Pirate Kitties Ahoy!
Here’s a sketch of a new illustration featuring “Pirate Kitties.”
Think this one will go in the new shadowbox I just got from TJ Maxx. It’s the same shadowbox used for “Zombie Kitty,” a few previous posts from here.
It will be fun to play with a bad/good twin idea. Here’s the “bad” kitty…think the “good” kitty will be based off of Marie Antoinette. Any chance to throw a ruffle or bow in!
Garden Girls
This Bee Girl, drawn for Joe, will be fun to animate in Flash now that she’s been vectorized…maybe she’ll even end up singing!
The last flash movie similar to this style was made awhile ago, time to play with it again.
Here’s the animation below:
These Bug Ladies are fun to create, here’s a rough of the Butterfly and Ladybug…it will be fun to refine the character designs! They might end up in the animation...we’ll see.
Logo Contests
Here are some entries into Design Contests offered at 99designs.com & 48hourslogo.com. It’s fun to get feedback and s-t-r-e-t-c-h out to do something different, like this adult-y Wedding Video Logo below.
Zombie Kitty!
This is for YOU, Lizzie Pooh. Happy Birthday!
On a Friday the 13th too.
I had a hard time thinking what to get you. Then I thought…What to get someone who hearts Hello Kitty and Zombies? Why, Zombie Kitty in 3D!
Materials: Illustration printed out on Card Stock and cut out. Glitter Foam Sheets with adhesive backing, a fine-tipped Glue Pen & Glitter. 8″x 18″ Shadow box has a magnetic closure, so it’s easy to update..and easier to feed Zombie Kitty Bbbrrraaaiinnsss.
The Sweet Smell of Epoxy
Have you ever watched the tv show Hoarders?
It’s a cautionary tale of my potential future. Fresh after gazing into this Crystal Ball of a show, it motivates me to even file.
So on one hand, if I don’t Image Collect something feels missing. A good compromise between full-blown Hoarding and getting my image fix on is…Stickers. They don’t take up much room and if I confine them to one binder, I’m in good shape.
Oh, to be ALIVE!!!
Joe took this pic of me in Sticker Hunter Mode. I put it up cause it makes him smile. ![]()
There’s something about the texture of a cork sticker…perhaps the sweet memory of Teddy Grahams?
Here are some of my faves!
Erin handmade this Hoff sticker for me! She’s so creative! I can’t wait to see his Roast on Comedy Central this Sunday.
Super Secret Black Light Pens
Back in ’08, I would totally bling out the pages of my lil’ 4″x 6″ planner with stickers, drawings, stamps. It was really fun playing around in it!
In ‘o9, I lost a really cute planner I had BIG plans for early in the year. Never seen it since. I was so disappointed that I couldn’t even buy another one, nothing measured up to this planner, it was sooooo cute. To make up for this loss, I got a really good planner this year, in the Land made for a Cutist like me…Japan! Being there was like gorging on an Eye Candy Feast Buffet. Totally FABulous!
I’ve been blogging for about a week now…or has it been 2? It’s been a Creative Diary of sorts, as I head back to the Drawing Board…to my first, grand, true North Star. All signs point NORTH!
To all those others who pursue their Creative Life, I salute you! Stay strong, Comrades!
Warm & Fuzzy Kitty Logo…I choose YOU!
A simpler background makes it better…
I’ll go with THIS one for my Portfolio.
Warm & Fuzzy Kitty Logos (I CAN’T decide!)

This project was just too much fun. At the end of the Design Contest wrapped up today, Option A was in the final running!
I’m not sure which one I should consider for my Portfolio…eh, maybe Option A or D…they do look more like Kittens. hmmm, haveta think on it.
Warm & Fuzzy Kitty! A Logo Concept…meow!
Just joined & submitted my first entry for http://99designs.com!
It’s a website where designers from all over Creation submit a design from a customer’s brief with a limited timeframe. It’s fun to see the takes of different designers on…they are a very talented pool, I must say!
I entered late in the game, it was great fun to get my feet wet.
The Clients are from www.WFKitty.com, a”theme park like” vacation experience for kitties…a place after my Mom’s own heart! I’m sure if they had a location in Ventura County, she’d send my bro, Prince Yellowtail over there…isn’t he cute???
(Actually, if I’m not careful, he might get the house…) ![]()
A CATZILLA Sighting!
This Big Fella was admiring today’s sunset at Oxnard Shores. Joe was lucky to take its snapshot, despite his size, he’s quite skittish.
Looks like my Mom’s been leaving food out for him!
Hello World!
Welcome to my Studio!
It’s wonderful to s – t – r – e – t – c – h out in a space dedicated to Creative Work!
Closets are the best to hide away art supplies and books, alas…there’s no more room on my shelving. I took a $3 calender and hung it on a wall so I can see (& help plan) the year.
